Cathodic protection
In the Province of Alberta, the Apprenticeship and Industry Act (AIT) regulates the minimum certification requirements for any workers performing certain cathodic protection (CP) functions. Therefore, if The City of Calgary has not explicitly stated that worker certifications are required for projects (including CP scopes of work), then it is at the contractor’s discretion to determine whether a CP sub-contractor is required or whether the contractor is competent in performing the functions based on AITs CP Technician Regulations
